Load-chart & stability considerations
Counterbalance stability is governed by the truck's rated capacity data plate, which falls away sharply as load centre distance increases beyond the standard 500mm — a pallet with an off-set or elongated load can tip the truck forward well below its nominal rated tonnage. We train operators to read the data plate correctly and to recognise when a load's actual centre of gravity, not just its weight, has taken them outside the safe zone.

A counterbalance forklift is the most common type of lift truck. The forks sit at the front and a heavy counterweight at the back balances the load, so the truck needs no stabilising legs. It steers with the rear wheels, which makes it agile in a yard or warehouse but means the back end swings out on turns.
