Lifting machines
Forklifts, telehandlers, cranes and lorry loaders — anything where the duty chart decides what is safe.
- Counterbalance Forklift1 day (experienced/refresher) to 3 days (novice, no prior experience)
- Reach Truck2–4 days depending on prior lift-truck experience
- Rough-Terrain Forklift1–3 days depending on prior FLT experience and ground conditions covered
- Fixed-Boom Telehandler2–5 days depending on prior plant experience
- Rotating (360°) Telehandler3–5 days, reflecting the added slew and outrigger-stability skill set
- Mobile Crane (All-Terrain)Typically 5+ days for novice operators; shorter for experienced operators moving between crane classes
- Crawler CraneTypically 5+ days, reflecting the added complexity of counterweight configuration and track-mounted travel
- Lorry Loader (HIAB)2–3 days for novice operators; 1 day for experienced operators seeking formal accreditation
Earthmoving & haulage
Excavators, loaders, dumpers and rollers used on civils, quarry and estate ground across Aberdeenshire.
- Forward Tipping Dumper1 day (experienced) to 2 days (novice)
- Rotating Dumper1–2 days depending on prior dumper experience
- Tracked Dumper1–2 days depending on prior dumper or tracked-plant experience
- Ride-On Roller1 day (experienced) to 2 days (novice)
- 360° Excavator3–5 days for novice operators; shorter for experienced operators moving between tonnage bands
- 180° Backhoe Loader3–5 days for novice operators covering both ends of the machine; shorter where only one function is needed
- Skid-Steer Loader1–2 days depending on prior loader experience
- Telescopic Wheeled Loader2–4 days depending on prior loader or telehandler experience
Powered access
Scissor lifts, boom lifts and vehicle-mounted platforms used for work at height.
Attachments
