Breaker work concentrates repeated, high-frequency shock loading through the excavator's arm and quick-hitch in a way that steady digging doesn't — this accelerates wear on the hitch and boom pins specifically, and operators need to recognise that a hitch or pin in acceptable condition for digging can be marginal for sustained breaker use. We also train correct breaker angle and technique to avoid side-loading the tool bit, which both reduces efficiency and increases equipment stress.
