Load-chart & stability considerations
Mobile crane stability is governed by a full lift plan under BS 7121, factoring the crane's rated capacity chart for the specific outrigger extension and radius used, actual ground-bearing pressure at each outrigger pad, and wind loading at the working radius and boom height. We train operators as part of a competent lift team — not in isolation — because crane stability depends as much on the appointed person's ground assessment and lift plan as it does on the operator's own boom and hoist control.
